Using spectral data (UV, IR, IH & 13C NMR  and MS) its structure has been elucidated. Rotundial showed 94.1 % repellency up to 4th hour and maintained 82 % at 6th hour at application dose of 0.15 mg/sq. cm.

These extracts are also deterrent to adult mosquitoes. Further the extracts of TULSI, Wheat and Neem can be used for disinfecting water.
