Title : COMPARATIVE ANALYTICAL STUDIES ON BRHAT MASA TAILA.
Abstract : BRHAT MASA TAILA was prepared as per the textual method and by modified method in which CHAGA MAMSA (flesh of goat) was deleted from the formulation. Both types of preparations were compared for pharmacopoeial parameters, visible light spectrum and thin-layer chromatography. The acid value and saponification value were 6.43, 219.68 and 6.9, 203 in the textual and modified methods respectively. The visible light spectrum showed difference in the shape at the wave length 460 nm to 550 nm. The thin layer chromatography did not show any difference in either type of preparation.
