Title : STUDIES ON THE RASAYANA EFFECT OF A GERIATRIC FORMULATION IN APPARENTLY NORMAL AGED PERSONS
Abstract : The Rasayana (healthful longevity) effect of a geriatric formulation of 6 herbal drugs on 38 healthy male volunteers was assessed. Extensive clinical, psychological, bio-chemical and anthropometric tests were selected as parameters of assessment. The treatment period was six months. Results indicate that this compound drug is a comprehensive and balanced drug formulation, capable of restoring the age related impaired functions, viz.,joint pains, memory deficits, etc. It can be prescribed as a geriatric tonic, psycho-stimulant, and for enhancing the non-specific immunity,
