Title :  HYPOGLYCEMIC ACTIVITY OF OCIMUM GRATISSIMUM IN RATS
Abstract :      The hypoglycemic effect of the methanol extract of Ocimum gratissimum (TULASI BH.) leaves was evaluated in normal and alloxan-induced diabetic rats. Intraperitoneal injection of the extract (400 mg/kg) significantly reduced plasma levels both in normal and diabetic rats by 56 and 68 percent, respectively.
