Title :  EFFECT OF ISCADOR ON CYTOKINE LEVELS OF METASTATIC TUMOR BEARING ANIMALS
Abstract :      Iscador, an extract from Viscum album (SVARNA BANDAKA) plant increased the levels of various cytokines in normal animals. B16FIO, metastatic tumor bearing animals showed lowered levels of IFN- gamma, IL-2 and elevated levels of GM-CSF and TNF-alpha. Treatment with Iscador increased the levels of IFN-gamma and IL-2 in tumor bearing mice whereas GM-CSF and TNF-alpha levels were reduced significantly.
