Title : ANALYTICAL STANDARDIZATION OF HERBAL FORMULATIONS : CHEMICAL & INSTRUMENTAL TECHNIQUES.
Abstract : The objective of quality protocol development activities should be to ensure a 'minimum' therapeutic guarantee' to the user. Such objective can be accomplished by ensuring a fairly consistent quality in the raw materials, a validated process control system and adequate checks on the finished products. In order to ensure the chemical sanctity of crude herbs, extracts and finished production, the present approaches can be classified under the following categories: i) Physico-chemical Analysis; ii) estimation of functional groups; iii) quantifications of marketers and iv) chromatographic finger printing.
