Title : STANDARDISATION OF BRAHMIGRITHAM.
Abstract : BRAHMIgritham is a compound consisting of several medicinal plants and is considered to be a good brain tonic, according to Ayurveda text. Ghee is used in this preparation. TLC method is described for the detection of various ingredients. The plants ingredients include the following viz., Piper nigrum (MARICAM), Ipomoea turpethum (Thrivrit), Baliospermum montanum (Danti), Cassia fistula (Aragwadha), Alstonia scholaris (Saptaparna), Embelia ribes (Vidanga). The method employed can be used as one of the methods for standardisation of the drug.
