Title :  OEDEMA SUPPRESSANT ACTIVITY OF THE STEM BARK OF MORINGA PTERYGOSPERMA GAERTN
Abstract :      Powedered drug and the different extracts of the stem bark of Moringa pterygosperma Gaertn (SIGRU). (Moringaceae) were studied for their oedema suppressant activity in albino rats.  All the extracts showed peak oedema suppressant activity within two hours of carrageenan injection.  The methanolic extract showed signficant (P) oedema suppressant activity similar to that of indomethacin at  the first hour of carrageenan injection.  These studies, therfore, offer scope for further investigations to substaintiate the claims on this bark.
