Title :  EXCERPTS FROM CHIKITSAMANJARI-XXI TREATMENT OF MADATYAYA (ALCOHOLISM).
Abstract :      Management of the diseases caused due to the over use of intoxicating agents is dealt with in this issue. Some recipies for mada and moorccha with the old treatment techniques against sannyasa are described. Plant based kashaya drugs which cure madatyaya  has been dealt with. Some of the plants mentioned include; Holastemma dekodien, Fritillaria roylei, Lillium polyphyllum, Polygonatum cirrhifolium, P. vertiillatum, Vigna pilosa, V. radiata, Malaxis nucifera, M. acuminata and  Glycyrrhiza glabra (Yastimadhu) etc.

Guggulipid (gum of Commiphora mukul (GUGGULU)) therapy, significantly (p less than 0.001) reduced the mean serum cholesterol level.
