Abstract :      Techniques used to detoxify ten herbal drugs viz., Baliospermum montanum (Danti) (roots, leaves, seeds), Cannabis sativa (BHANGA) (leaves, flowers), Commiphora wightii (GUGGULU) (gum.) Croton tiglium (Jayapaala) (root, stem. leaf, seed), Datura stramonium (Dattura) (leaf, flower, fruit, root), Gloriosa superba (Langali) (tuber), Mucuna pruriens (roots, (KAPIKACCHU) seeds and the hairs covering the pods), Plumbago indica (roots) (CHITRAKA), Semecarpus anacardium (Seed kernels) (Bhavataka) and Strychnos nux-vomica (KUPILU) (seeds) are described. Properties of these drugs are also enumerated.
