Title : COMPARATIVE GROWTH, HERBAGE YIELD, ASIATICOSIDE AND MADECASSOCIDE COMPOSITION IN BRAHAMA-MANDUKI (CENTELLA ASIATICA)
Abstract : Fifteen collections of Centella asiatica (MANDUKAPARNI) (syn. Hydrocotyl asiatica BRAHAMA MANDUKI) WAS analyzed for growth, herb yield, asiaticoside and madecassocide composition. Collelctions from Jawalapur, Maichak (Kathua), Bamla (Udhampur) and Agriculture University, Palampur excelled in growth and herbage yield while a higher content of asiaticoside and madecassocide was recorded in plantation raised from material collected from Udhampur. All the collections revealed a higher content of madecassocide (0.537-4.420).
